The Kawamura Cultural Foundation art support grant 2018 is currently ongoing and applications are welcome from around the world. The grant is to support socially engaged art projects taking place in Japan. The project must also commit to the community and society; implement activities together with communities and its residents. The program will also further deepen the relationships between art and culture as well as the society. It will also contribute to the cultivation of higher cultural developments in Japan. This socially engaged art will help create a good change amongst the existing rules and systems through a proactive process of participation and communication with the society, on a daily basis. The purpose of this foundation is to promote the development of cultural art and the creation of new and original works.

The fund available for this grant program is five (5) million Japanese Yen that will be paid in divided terms.
Kawamura Cultural Foundation Art Support Grant 2018 Eligibility Criteria
All applications and proposals by individuals and organizations must satisfy the following requirements before they can stand a chance of accessing the fund from Kawamura cultural foundation.
- Applications are welcome from all age range and nationality
- The artists must work within the context of contemporary art
- It must be a socially engaged art project that will be newly implemented in Japan
- The applicants must develop projects that will lead to a positive social change
- The art projects must demonstrate models of a better society.
