Delta State is one of the oil-producing states in South-South Nigeria. The travel destinations in Delta is what makes it very interesting. It formerly part of the old Bendel State. On August 27, 1991, the state was divided into Edo and Delta States by the General Ibrahim Babangida military government.

The Araya Bible Site houses a copy of the Holy Bible – which they strongly believe must have fallen have fallen directly from heaven in the year August 1914. The Araya Bible Site is in Isoko South LGA, and can be accessed from Warri through Ughelli and Oleh, and also from Asaba through Kwale and then Oleh.

Both Abraka Turf and Country Club are situated in Abraka. It also has a horse club where international polo tournament takes place annually during Easter.
