Olamide Adedeji better known by Olamide is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who is well known for recording most of his songs in his native tongue-Yoruba.
Background
Olamide was born on the 15th of March, 1989 in Bariga, Lagos State. He studied mass communication at Tai Solarin University of Education.
He however left his degree in Mass communication to pursue a career in music.
Music Career
He started his music career under Coded Tunes, a record label owned by ID Cabasa and managed by Toni Payne, he released his debut studio album Rapsodi with the hit track Eni Duro while signed to the label. He however left the label to start his own record label- YBNL NATION in 2012.
His second album YBNL which was produced by Tyrone, Samklef, 2 Kriss, Pheelz and ID Cabasa featured other musicians like Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Kayswitch, Dammy Krane, Reminisce, Samklef, Base One, Minus 2 and Buckwylla. The album contained hit songs like Stupid Love, First of All and Voice of the Street.
His third album Baddest Guy Ever Liveth was released in Novermber, 2013 with top charting songs like Durosoke and Yemi my love.
His other released albums are Stree OT, 2 Kings, Eyan Mayweather and The Glory.
Olamide became the first Nigerian to be signed to Ciroc when he signed an endorsement deal with them in July, 2013. And then in October of the same year he signed another mouth watering deal with Guinness Nigeria. He also bagged another endorsement with Etisalat Nigeria (now 9 mobile) and with Sure Bet. He became an ambassador of Sterling Bank Plc in 2017.
