You can now apply for Arab Documentary Photography Program for 2019.
This is funded by the partnership between Afac and Prince Klaus Foundation which focus on photographers working on documentary projects in the Arab region.
ADP also explore how the subsidized projects are presented to the general public and how this audience can interact with plans, Photographers may propose to work in a range of non-fiction narrative styles, from classic documentary photography to more experimental visual storytelling, and may intend to include audio and video elements.
Requirements Arab Documentary Photography (ADP) Program
- This program is only for Arab countries mainly those living and working in the Arab region, irrespective of age, years of experience, ethnicity, gender or religion;
- Have good knowledge and a professional photographer. Photographers who have not specialized in documentary photography will be considered as long as the proposed work is documentary in nature;
- Must have technical familiarity with photography;
- Must be self-employed, i.e., must not be working under any “work for hire” agreements, and should have full copyright ownership of the work they produce.
Why You Should Register
- ADP offers 10 production grants and professional support per course and each goes for USD 5,000.
Awards
AFAC’s Arab Documentary Photography Program (ADPP) gives 10 production grants per cycle of $5,000 each. Grantees are expected to work on their projects in their country of residence over a period of 8 months. The grant may be used to begin a new project or to complete work on an existing project.
ADPP grantees will benefit from mentor ship provided by top caliber program mentors and will be required to attend two specialized workshops to help them develop and produce their projects and consider avenues for distribution.
