EU Delegation to Egypt Traineeship 2019 for young Egyptian Graduates
Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Egypt?
A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Press and Information (PI) Team (of the Political Section) of the EU Delegation to Egypt, starting mid-July 2019.
FUNDED TRAINEESHIP FOR YOUNG GRADUATES AT THE EU DELEGATION TO EGYPT – PRESS AND INFORMATION TRAINEESHIP
Main tasks:
- Assisting in preparation of press and information and public diplomacy events.
- Updating the Delegation’s website and social media platforms.
- Assisting in writing press statements, in addition to press reports on specific issues related to how the EU and the activities of its
- Delegation are portrayed in the media
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Strong background in political science and/or international relations, or a powerful, proven capacity for one of those fields mentioned above.
- Preferably specific knowledge of Egypt’s current domestic, regional, and foreign policy issues.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage in widening the scope of the tasks assigned to the intern.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to produce insightful and timely reports.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to build and maintain contacts with relevant partners.

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Human Rights Team (of the Political Section) of the EU Delegation to Egypt, starting in August 2019.
Main tasks:
- Assisting in monitoring developments in the field of human rights and democracy in Egypt, including information management, preparation of written reports, notetaking in meetings and drafting of minutes, participating/reporting on various seminars and conferences
- Assisting development of high-level visits from the EU headquarters, including input to briefings and agenda
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Excellent background in political science and/or international relations, or a powerful, proven specialized capacity for one of those fields mentioned above,
- Preferably specific knowledge of Egypt’s current domestic, regional, and foreign policy issues,
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is needed in the field of Press and Information. In the other two areas,
- knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage in widening the scope of the tasks assigned to the intern
