His family hails from Okija in Anambra State. His father was a banker and his mother was a nurse. He was born in Benin City, Edo State. His parents bore four children, with him as the third. He has two brothers and one sister.
Ebuka did his nursery and primary education in Benin City, and he wrote his Common Entrance Examinations from primary four. His family moved to Abuja, and he did his Secondary School Education there.

Career
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu entered the Big brother house in 2006. This was the first season of the show. He finished in eighth place and yet seems to be the most successful housemate among his set of BBN cast. He was announced as the host of the reality shows seasons two and three.
